The main problem facing CCFC is the lack of media coverage and advertising that it has. Without advertising the club will struggle to get people to get involved and being able to allow them to participate. " a business that stops advertising may give the impression that the business is out of business. When people see a business advertise for a long period of time and then stop, they may get the false impression that the business is no longer there, even though it is still open. Consistent advertising yields the best results."(why not advertise, 2010) so for example if we were to not advertise then people may think that the club has stopped running. Which would mean the club wouldnt be getting all the potential people it may attract and also it would hinder the profile of the club. If particpation levels decrease this could lead to further cuts in the budget for the club, and seriously affect the running of the club." a specialist sports college, had its sports grant cut by 80% this year. " (Guardian, 2011) this sort of cut would affect the club in terms of where it can go and what it can do. With this huge a cut the club would struggle to keep its best assests such as its facilties but also it wouldnt be able to hold as many sessions or matches at the club as they physically would not be able to afford it.This would seriously threat the running of the club. The club needs to make sure that it is well advertised and links up with local media to help raise its profile. If the club can raise its profile this could lead to better oppotunites and further funding. It would also make the club nationally recognised and reflect well on the college and the local area. Currently the club does little advertising and has no interaction with any of the local media. If partnerships with newspapers such as the derbyshire times or the radios peak 107 were made we could see a real increase in the profile and particpation in the club. This could only help generate more funding for the club and give the college more recognition. If it made these links better oppotunities would come along. It may give them the finance to better there equipment, and even further better the facilties which will give the club an outstanding chance of reaching there objectives. The benefits of these links are clear to see and it would be valuable to the club if they were to advertise through these links as it leads to the oppotunities i have previously suggested.
